GROW

As Christians living powerfully in Jesus, we GROW when we learn about God, when we obey God, when we put our faith into practice.

Do you have extra time on your hands right now? Consider spending some of that extra time with your Savior. Here's a suggestion for one way to do just that.

Encouraging DAILY BIBLE READING is a priority at Saint Lucas. In 2020, the Saint Lucas family focuses on the Psalms. The Psalms are rich in imagery depicting the beautiful history and truths of our faith. Make the Psalms part of the fabric of your life – read, meditate, memorize, discuss – just as did the believers in ancient times. A schedule of daily scripture reading is posted at www.openthebook.org.  You don’t have to follow this schedule, but many Saint Lucas members and friends do. Discussing the daily readings can be an interesting conversation.

SMALL GROUPS are groups of 3-12 people that usually meet twice a month.  These groups promote Spiritual growth as well as other aspects of Christian living.

Small groups at Saint Lucas incorporate four activities:

  1. Community Building -- Group members get to know one another so they can care for and support one another through the regular ups and downs of everyday life.
  2. Biblical Equipping -- Biblical Equipping is a life-transforming process in which group members follow an 8-step cycle of hearing, discussing, reflecting upon, and living the Scriptures, not only when they are together as a group, but between group meetings.
  3. Prayer and Worship -- The group members worship together and pray for and with one another.
  4. Missional Service -- The group reaches out with Christ's love to meet the needs of people outside the group.

SMALL GROUP OPPORTUNITIES:

WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY meets most first and third Tuesdays in the church lower level at 6:30 p.m. For details about the current topic of study and specific meeting dates, click here: Things Above.

LIFE TOGETHER Stop by the church sanctuary on Thursday nights at 6:45 p.m. for fellowship, Bible study, prayer and for hand clapping, foot-tapping, voice-raising, melody-guessing, praise-singing, guitar playing.

MEN’S GROUP More of a lifestyle than a meeting, plus egg sandwiches and coffee. Contact Willie Delwiche for more information and to obtain the schedule: email -- This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

2 Year Reading Plan for the Bible (NIV)

Please join us in our goal to read the entire Bible over a 2 year span of time.

2 Year Reading Plan of the Bible (NIV 1984)

The Today's Light Bible helps individuals and groups read and study the entire NIV Bible in just two years, breaking the readings down into manageable daily portions that can be completed in just 15 minutes or less. Brief devotions based on the text help readers understand and apply that day's Scripture selection to their lives.
